Sales Support Engineer

What You Will Do
The Sales Support Engineer supports Sales managers and the organisations to grow the company’s energy sector business and image by satisfying customers and strengthening customer relationships.
As Sales Support Engineer your responsibilities will include:
Main tasks
- Evaluate enquiries, prepare, and present concept solutions.
- Prepare quotations and technical proposals according to customer’s expectations.
- Work in team to prepare technical material to be presented to the customers.
- Give enquiry-based end customer pricing for equipment and total solutions.
- Make quotations in the company’s RFP format.
- Get costs from internally and external suppliers.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key stake holders.
- Identify required training and where possible train customers on our products.
- Adhere to the company’s work processes. Together with the sales and Projects team, determine the customers’ needs and all relevant information to establish a proposal and quotation.
- Overall responsibility for Pre-Project execution, including coordinate resources and competencies required to form the proposal.
- Select and advise on the best technical solution in collaboration with the sales and engineering groups.
- Establish the schedule of activities and assign deliverable to other resources to meet the quotation deadline.
- Drive the development of the quotation materials aligned to company policy.
- Drive the development of all cost and price calculation documentation and hold ultimate responsibility for final compiled project summary.
- Schedule and lead quotation reviews according to company governance policy
- Perform and assist with customer sales visits as needed to include giving technical and/or commercial presentation.
- Comply with all company Governance and Quality policies relative to Pre-Projects.
- Present status updates in Project review board meetings.
- For sold projects, drive and support all project handovers to the implementation Project Manager and team.
- Continuous education in the area of Project Management with the expectation to obtain or maintain PMP certification.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the tasks and activities mentioned above.
- Responsible for the quotation including price, performance, scope, delivery.
- Make all relevant information available to internal resources providing sales Pre-Project and manage available cost budget.
Leadership:
- The Sales Support Engineer leads the technical elements of enquiries and coordinates supporting resources in order to complete high quality quotations.
- The Sales Support Engineer works independently but has recurring follow ups with the Sales Managers and directors.

Academic Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in an Engineering preferably Electrical or Mechanical subject.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience of 2-3 years in handling projects in solar or any energy related field calculating projects costs for customer equipment projects.
- Knowledge of general solar solutions will be added advantage.
- Fluency in English and Local National Language.
